Modern transport hubs are increasingly shifting toward becoming multi-functional community centers where lifestyle and daily necessities converge. Demonstrating this evolution, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) recently transformed its bustling transit space into a one-stop civic hub when it hosted the Lingap para sa Kabuhayan Caravan last June 25–26. The two-day event successfully brought critical state services directly to the doorsteps of daily travelers, transport workers, and residents from surrounding neighborhoods.
By leveraging its massive foot traffic as one of the country’s premier transit infrastructure developments, PITX eliminated the traditional hassle of navigating multiple separate government offices. Commuters going about their daily routines were able to accomplish essential administrative tasks seamlessly, highlighting a growing trend where public terminals serve as vital anchors for community welfare and lifestyle convenience.
During the two-day initiative, key financial and health institutions established a heavy frontline presence to assist the public. The Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund deployed personnel to handle member information and system updating, contribution verification, account inquiries, loan application and processing assistance, benefit consultations, and Pag-IBIG ID registration and issuance assistance, among other frontline services. This extensive lineup allowed terminal tenants, nearby residents, and transport operators to resolve long-standing documentation issues without sacrificing an entire working day.
“Through the Lingap para sa Kabuhayan Caravan, PITX continues to provide added value to commuters by making essential government services more accessible and convenient.
