As I embark on a new chapter of my life’s journey, I find myself reflecting on what retirement truly means. While I may have retired from the daily grind of corporate life, I realize now that I will never retire from endeavoring to make a difference in the essential things in life. Purpose has no retirement age, and I remain committed to contributing, inspiring, and serving wherever I can.
It was a privilege to attend the topping-off ceremony of Columbia Tower–the second residential Tower at River Park Place in Mandaluyong City–a milestone that symbolizes not only the progress of an exceptional development but also the enduring value of trust, collaboration, and excellence.
River Park Place is a testament to CDC Homes’ unwavering commitment to innovation and to creating communities that respond to the evolving needs of modern Filipino families. Every aspect of the development has been thoughtfully designed, from its upgraded unit finishes to its carefully curated amenities that foster wellness, productivity, inclusivity and meaningful community living.

Among its standout features are a modern fitness gym, a resident lounge that transforms into a productive work-from-home space on weekdays, and an elegant events venue on weekends, dedicated yoga and meditation areas, children’s play spaces, exercise facilities for senior residents, and accessible public toilets, including facilities designed for persons with disabilities (PWDs). One must also see the beautifully designed swimming pool, which offers a resort-like atmosphere for relaxation and recreation, and the innovative hydroponic gardens that promote sustainable urban living. Indeed, healthy, green, and vibrant communities coexist harmoniously.
Strategically located in the heart of Metro Manila, River Park Place sits at the crossroads of three major business districts and is surrounded by existing and upcoming government infrastructure projects. Residents enjoy unparalleled accessibility to public transportation, schools, workplaces, healthcare facilities, shopping centers, and entertainment destinations, allowing them to spend less time commuting and more time with their families.
What truly awed me was CDC Homes’ resilience and unwavering commitment despite today’s economic challenges. Amid market softening, fluctuating construction material costs, and rising interest rates, the company continues to enjoy strong demand for its developments.
This is a testament to its deep understanding of the market and its steadfast commitment to its mission. According to Elsie Chua, President and CEO of CDC Homes, “everything the company builds is anchored on three principles: creating sustainable communities, developing homes at the center of opportunities, and building environments where families can grow and thrive.” Through these principles, CDC Homes reaffirms its commitment to helping Filipinos build a brighter future and truly “live their best life”.
CDC Homes has long exemplified these values. The strong professional partnership between Ms. Elsie Chua and yours truly reflects a shared commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality homes that enhance the lives of Filipino families. It is a testament to what can be achieved when relationships are built on integrity, mutual respect, and a common vision.
And this is my epiphany: when our lives are guided by purpose, integrity, and a sincere desire to uplift others, there is really no such thing as retirement. We may step away from a title or an office, even one that we’ve had for decades, but we never retire from building lives, strengthening communities, mentoring future leaders, or inspiring hope.
After all, the most enduring legacy we leave behind is not measured by the positions we held or the buildings we helped create but by the lives we touched, the values we lived by, and the better future we helped build for generations to come.
