Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, the flagship northern property managed by SM Hotels & Conventions Corporation (SMHCC), recently launched its Basic Food and Beverage Operations Training Program. Organized in partnership with the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory, the initiative focuses on empowering Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) by equipping them with practical, industry-standard hospitality skills designed to pave the way for successful societal reintegration and gainful employment.

The program officially commenced at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory, drawing key stakeholders from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Quezon City local government, SMHCC, and the Radisson Hotel Group to support the collaborative livelihood drive.

The launch featured an introduction to the specialized food and beverage curriculum, alongside opening remarks from Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA General Manager Reycie Gutierrez. Quezon City Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte also delivered an inspirational message, highlighting how education and livelihood programs serve as vital catalysts for giving individuals a new lease on life.

A ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the milestone, led by Mayor Belmonte alongside SMHCC Senior Vice President for Operations Cathy Nepomuceno, General Manager Reycie Gutierrez, Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory Jail Warden Maria Lourdes Pacion, and BJMP Regional Director JCSUPT Baby Noel Montalvo.

“At SM Hotels & Conventions Corporation, we believe that hospitality has the power to uplift lives beyond the walls of our hotels,” said SMHCC Executive Vice President Peggy Angeles. “Through initiatives like this, we are investing in people by providing them with valuable skills, renewed confidence, and opportunities for a fresh start. This reflects our commitment to creating meaningful and lasting impact in the communities we serve.”
