Circuit Makati is filling October with performances, exhibitions, film screenings, and creative activities as ARTober: Where Art Forms Collide brings different sides of the arts into the estate.
After a successful start last weekend, the month-long program opened with Shakespeare in the Park: Macbeth on Oct. 4 at Circuit Makati Park. About Us But Not About Us, meanwhile, continues its run at the PMCS Blackbox Theater through Oct. 25 as part of the Ayala Land and Circuit Makati Palanca Awardees Residency Program.
The program extends beyond established stages. The Fringe Stage is set to feature independent performers in short-form works outside the Samsung Performing Arts Theater from Oct. 9 to 11, while K-Ballet Tokyo will present Flames of Paris at the Circuit Performing Arts Theater on Oct. 24 in partnership with Tokyo Broadcasting System Television (TBS Japan).
Across the estate, visitors can also explore an Art Mart featuring local art merchants and an Art Crawl showcasing works in different parts of Circuit Makati. Creative workshops and activities will take place in various creative spaces throughout the month.
ARTober also gives audiences a chance to look at the business and practice of art through Saturday panel discussions and workshops with ArtDirected. Topics include art pricing, arts funding, international graphic design, and art curation. Film screenings and discussions are also scheduled in partnership with Scene Change (Mag-Iina) and Culturtrain (Songs of the Fireflies).
The program reflects Circuit Makati’s expanding place within the city’s creative landscape, using its performing arts venues, creative spaces, and public areas as settings for cultural experiences beyond conventional galleries and theaters.
For artists and longtime art enthusiasts, as well as those simply curious about discovering something new, ARTober offers a chance to experience the different ways art can intersect with everyday life at Circuit Makati.
