The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has recorded zero overdue regulatory applications for 10 consecutive weeks, following reforms aimed at streamlining processes while maintaining safeguards for homebuyers and other stakeholders.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling credited the agency’s Central Office and 17 Regional Offices for sustaining the improvement. Since June, all offices have certified that regulatory applications were acted upon within the prescribed 15-day period, either through approval, denial or the issuance of a Notice of Deficiency of Requirements.
“By strengthening our policies, we further streamline the regulatory processes. However, faster processing does not mean weaker regulation. We remain committed to balancing the interest of all stakeholders, including protection of homebuyers,” Aliling said.
DHSUD attributed the improvement to reforms under its 8-Point Agenda, introduced when Aliling assumed office in 2025. These include streamlining processes, digitizing systems, creating an enabling regulatory environment, protecting homebuyers, balancing stakeholder interests and eliminating corruption.
The department has also issued circulars designed to keep housing projects moving while maintaining regulatory compliance.
“Patuloy nating inaayos ang ating mga proseso upang mas mapabilis pa ang paghahatid ng serbisyo nang hindi isinasakripisyo ang proteksyon ng lahat ng ating mga stakeholders, kasama na mga homebuyers,” Aliling said.
He added that DHSUD continues to work toward expanding access to safe, decent and affordable housing for Filipino families.
