SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) has appointed Janytte Siega as General Manager of the upcoming SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, reinforcing leadership ahead of the venue’s opening in November 2026 within the SM Seaside Cebu complex.
Set to become the country’s largest convention and exhibition facility, SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu is positioned as a major addition to the Philippines’ growing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) landscape.

Siega brings more than two decades of experience across the hotel, banquet, and MICE sectors, with a career spanning both local and international hospitality markets. Prior to her new role, she served as Director of Banquets and Event Services and Officer-in-Charge for Operations at SMX Convention Center Manila, where she helped oversee large-scale event operations and strengthen service delivery standards in one of the country’s leading convention venues.
Her professional background includes extensive exposure to hospitality operations in the Philippines and the Middle East, with experience in Cebu, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah. Over the years, she has managed high-profile corporate, government, and social events attended by international delegates and dignitaries.

In her new role, Siega will oversee the pre-opening phase of SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, with responsibilities centered on operational readiness, talent development, and strategic partnerships, while ensuring alignment with the SMX brand’s service standards.
“I am honored to take on this new role and be part of bringing SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu to life. Cebu continues to be a vital hub for tourism, business functions, and international gatherings, and I look forward to working alongside our team and partners in establishing the venue as a premier destination for meetings, conventions, exhibitions, and large-scale activations in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region,” she said.

Once completed, the facility will offer over 21,000 square meters of leasable space across six levels. It will also be directly linked to the SM Seaside Arena and SM Seaside Cebu Mall, forming an integrated destination designed for exhibitions, conventions, entertainment, and hospitality.
“With Janytte’’s appointment, SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation further reinforces its commitment to expanding world-class MICE destinations across the country and supporting the continued growth of Cebu and the Philippines as leading hubs for business events and tourism in the region,” said SMHCC Executive Vice President Peggy Angeles.
